Letters to the editor
Minolta! Minolta!

Minolta (Montreal) Inc. has been asked to respond to a former employee's criticism aimed at the operations and practices of our Copy / Business Centre located at 920 Sherbrooke West. By choosing to air these accusations through the media, our former employee's "slings and arrows" were meant to undermine and harm our image. We believe the press is not an appropriate forum for addressing the particulars of the employment-related grievances. The employment information contained in the employee files is confidential by law, and any business information not in the public domain is proprietary.
As future graduates you must know that today's environment impels companies to make tough decisions to ensure their viability and competitiveness. Minolta is no exception. Our Centre's objective is to maintain the highest quality and best value around. To do so, we must re-evaluate our product line, rethink our services and adjust our human resources requirements continuously. The Centre's personnel, both occasional and full-time, increase and decrease accordingly. It is important to know that Minolta's business practices have withstood the test of time for almost three quarters of a century. Accordingly, Minolta (Montreal) Inc. conforms and frequently surpasses the applicable standards at our Copy Centres, both Ville St-Laurent and South Shore locations.
Voted "The Best Copy Centre on Campus" a few years ago, we are working very hard to ensure this title is maintained. We are pleased to announce that the Centre is undergoing renovations to serve you better.
We will be glad to welcome you in person.
